So finally I've been having a bit of success on the job front, thanks to temping. I've pretty much given up on finding a real permanent position- there seems to always be someone who has just the specific qualifications they're looking for. I mean if I can't get a job as an admin assistant/ activities coordinator for an ESL program then I have no hope.
I had a job for a week and a half at a place in Vancouver, great place, laid back, and I got to spend most of the day msn messaging with Sam over in England, good times! Yay for tedious tasks that no one else wants to do. Then I had a job for 1 day on Wednesday putting address labels on envelopes. No joke, just puttin the labels on, all day. It wasn't bad actually, I was in half a daze from having to get up at 5:20 to take the multiple bus rides there, so I just sat and listened to my ipod and looked out the window at the river, not a bad day.
Now I'm working at AAA in downtown Portland, fdoing stuff for the accounting department. Little do they know I don't like driving and can't count :-) This job will actually last 3 weeks and possibly more, so that's a relief. Now I get to pretend I live in the city cause I'll be there everyday! And I bought a trusty bus pass so I don't have to worry about carrying change all the time which is nice. Downtown Portland is so cute- lots of brick buildings, a red brick square, the park blocks, the waterfront, it's so a big town that thinks its a city, I love it!
