TFA 20th Anniversary Summit

This weekend, I had the pleasure (no, seriously, I loved it!) of attending the Teach for America 20th Anniversary Summit. Big names like Arne Duncan, Gloria Steinem, Michelle Rhee, John Legend, and Malcolm Gladwell were in attendance. It was inspiring to be around so many great people, including the over 10,000 attendees. There was also the first TFA LGBTQ social, inspired by us on the TFAnet LBGTQ community who keep shouting that we need space within the movement. Wendy Kopp (the founder and CEO of TFA) even came to our event, and I posed for a pic with her, it was pretty sweet. She even complimented me on my TFGay shirt, maybe they'll hire me to make them :-) And perhaps the most special moment was when we saw a video President Obama himself filmed just for the TFA event. What an honor!

I also got to see some old friends from institute who I haven't seen in a year and a half, and bond with some of my fellow ENC corps members. This was much needed half way through my second year of this crazy experience.
